AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A mysterious confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden group.
The adventure centers on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an special katana together with multiple items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Third Free Story Content
This update also adds the game's third free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
